Senator Barack Obama is in the news for piggy backing off of a statement from Sarah Palin’s Republican Convention speech. She said, “The difference between a hockey mom and a Pit Bull, is lipstick.” Yesterday, Senator Obama indirectly referenced the statement while mentioning the McCain change mantra. Obama said,”You can put lipstick on a pig, it is still a pig.”
In October 2007, Senator McCain made comments about lipstick on a pig speaking of Hillary Clinton’s healthcare plan.
The Naacp said at the beginning of 2008 White House contest, the candidates need to be sensative with their comments. The civil rights group understood, this is a historically diverse group vying for the Oval Office.
Are the statements over the top? Should either gender utter the lipstick comments? Or is this much to do about nothing?
