The White House is releasing an unclassified version of what Deputy National Security Advisor John Brennan hands to the President. The release of today’s unclassified report is expected to detail the holes in the United States intelligence detection, leading to the failed Detroit attack Christmas day. It is anticipated the President and John Brennan will continue to evaluate the situation over the coming months. The President, in the coming days will also announce more steps on passenger screening and intelligence-sharing. This weekend on a Sunday morning show, John Brennan warned Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula poses a threat to the United States. The alleged terror suspect in that incident, a man from Nigeria, was allegedly trained in Yemen for the attack.

Meanwhile, Robert Gibbs White House Press Secretary contends the President has not placed calls to African leaders on the Detroit incident. Some countries in Africa are breeding grounds for terror.  Some members of Al Qaeda and other extremists are leaving the Afghanistan and Pakistan boarders to flee to Somalia. Some in the National Security field fear the extremists in Somalia will create tentacles throughout the continent, particularly in lawless areas there.
